Join the Lawrence Tweetup for our second annual Tweetup in the Park!
- When: Saturday, June 19
- Time: 4-9 p.m.
- Where: Clinton Park, located at 5th & Maine in Lawrence (note: this is not Clinton State Park at the lake, this is a neighborhood park near Lawrence Memorial Hospital

Last year our inaugural picnic in the park had a great group of over 70 people. Help us make this year's event bigger and better! We're inviting social media enthusiasts from Lawrence and the surrounding areas. The invitation is open to members of the Lawrence Tweetup, Social Media Clubs of Lawrence and Kansas City, Topeka Tweetup, and Free State Social attendees. Come meet fellow social media users and bring your friends! This is a family friendly event, so feel free to bring the kids.
Please bring a food or drink item to share. We'll have a couple of grills fired up, so bring hot dogs, burgers, chips, side dishes, desserts, or drinks. We hope to have a great potluck style celebration with a lot of variety. The picnic organizers will provide paper plates, cups, napkins, and cutlery- you don't need to bring those items.
You can bring beer, but it must be in cans due to city ordinances prohibiting bottles. Please don't bring any type of alcohol in glass bottles.

If your business would like to donate food or drink, please let us know! We'd love the donation and it would be a great opportunity to showcase your business to a very talkative and influential community. We'll be sure to recognize your support on our website and social media sites.
The shelter area will be reserved for our event, so there will be plenty of seating in the shade. There's also a basketball hoop, kids play area, and lots of open space for yard games. If you have any outdoor games you want to bring along, please do!
Please use the comment section below to let us know you're coming and what you plan to bring- this will help all of us plan so we have a variety of food available. Anyone want to make a Fail Whale cake this year?
RSVP via Twitter using the TwtVite embedded on the right side of the page. You can also RSVP on Facebook.
Please spread the word about this great event, and we hope to see you on June 19!

Join #ltwup members for a pub-crawl to raise money for the Lawrence Humane Society and other charities in the Lawrence area!
- When: Saturday, May 1
- Time: 1p-5pm
- Where: Mass Street
Hey #ltwup, @bailann here.
The 2nd Lawrence Pub Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, May 1 in downtown Lawrence. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a #ltwup team and the fantastic Lawrence Tweetup committee agreed.
Entry fee ranges from $25 to $29 per person, depending on total number of participants on a team. I think we can definitely get 12 people but please let me know soon if you plan to join as the deadline to sign up is April 25 (or until they reach the max number of teams). I will register everyone’s email addresses (up to 12). The Lawrence Pub Crawl will then e-mail you information on how to pay the entry fee (which is the donation to the chairty) through their website.
If you have any questions or if you want to be a part of the team, DM me with your email address!
Please visit lawrencepubcrawl.org for more details.

Join your fellow social media enthusiasts for an evening Tweetup at Johnny's Tavern West!
- When: Wednesday, April 14
- Time: 7 pm - 10 pm
- Location: 721 Wakarusa Drive, Lawrence
Johnny's Tavern has been a staple in Lawrence since 1953 when Mr. John Wilson opened the original Johnny's Tavern across the river in North Lawrence. Over the past 30 years, Johnny's has added seven additional locations, and it's grown from an operation by two single guys who used to play rugby to a full-fledged family with eight partners. Six of the Johnny's locations are in Kansas City, and in 2009 they crossed the Missouri border and added a tavern in the Power & Light District.
Johnny's West in Lawrence also opened in 2009, in the former home of J.B. Stout's Bar & Grill. This west side addition has all the great food we've come to expect from Johnny's- pizza and burgers- along with some more upscale fare. Johnny's West features 16 HD TV's for all your game-watching (and live Twitter stream!) needs, and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Find Johnny's West on Facebook for current updates from the business. Johnny's West doesn't have a Twitter account, but you can follow the very active, fun, and friendly Johnny's Prairie Village account.
RSVP using the Twtvite on the right side of the page, and we'll see you on the 14th!
